Providing the strategic, worldwide vision for Melco is Dr. Jurg Henz, Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Henz oversees and manages all aspects of corporate operations including Research & Development, engineering, finance, sales, marketing and customer service. Dr. Henz was appointed CEO in August 1997, and since that time has been instrumental in re-engineering the company's technical focus by developing a roadmap for advanced product offerings.
Prior to Melco, Dr. Henz served as executive vice president and a member of the executive committee at Saurer Embroidery Systems. In this capacity, Dr. Henz defined and implemented corporate business goals within the executive committee and managed Saurer's Research and Development department. Before assuming the position of executive vice president, Dr. Henz served in a variety of management positions at Saurer Embroidery Systems.
Dr. Henz has contributed articles to more than thirty scientific publications worldwide and has lectured at numerous national and international conferences. Additionally, Dr. Henz holds nine patents for Schiffli embroidery. Dr. Henz received his PhD in natural science and a masters degree in physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.

Dakota Collectibles Embroidery Design Center was established in 1988 by twin brothers, George and Jerry Westphal, who, at the time, were in the retail embroidery business.
Being embroiderers when they started this company, they recognized the need for a large variety of stock embroidery designs that were high in quality, reasonably priced, and that could be delivered in a timely manner. They decided to start a business that would fulfill this need and, thus, Dakota Collectibles became the first to enter the large-volume stock design supplier market.
Their goal in establishing this new business was to create a company that treated their customers in the highest regard, by emphasizing excellent customer service and speedy product delivery. Foremost, they would recognize the needs and concerns embroiderers. They understand your time is valuable, so they work extra hard to provide you with designs that will sew right the first time, precise and beautiful.
